A group, Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), has warned the leader of Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), Asari Dokubo, against causing confusion among the nation’s geo-political zones. AYF cautioned Dokubo to stop distracting the government, saying any further plan to cause confusion in the country would be resisted.
In a statement signed by the national President of AYF, Gambo Gunjugu and made available to journalists at the weekend in Kaduna, the group said: Nigerians are aware of the antecedents of people like Asari Dokubo and we are not ready to join issues with him.
We believe that he should keep quiet and channel his energy towards assisting President Goodluck Jonathan to deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians instead of creating tension among the nations geo-political zones.
AYF, however, called on the President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Miabiye Kuromiema, whom the group described as a partner in the efforts aimed at building bridges across the country over the years, not to do anything that would break the robust relationship between the two bodies.
AYF said it was surprised that the core North was singled out for bashing and therefore called on the other geo-political zones to support efforts aimed at developing the country, saying: We are surprised that a condolence visit to the family of the late Igbo leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a great Nigerian, can be used for such.
